Warriors Playoffs 2007 from Christine Patacsil on Vimeo.
A dedication to the better days of the Golden State Warriors. The days before Monta's moped madness, B-Diddy's unfortunate fall from point guard greatness, and all of the cast of overly-emotional, nothing to loose, role players that made going to Dubs games the featured event of the week.
Attack of the ADs from Christine Patacsil on Vimeo.
The attack ads featured during the 2008 presidential election were getting out of hand. This is a mash up of those ads featuring commentary through stick figures on crack.
Dripping Water from Christine Patacsil on Vimeo.
Wasting water is a big deal. But it is still obvious that people do this.
Ten Retro Tech Toys that Resurrect your Childhood

VHS, tape decks, wood paneling, oh my! The past conjures up warm memories that are greatly associated with chocolate-chip cookies and watching Saturday morning cartoons. These gadgets should be able to bring up a memory cloud a la Wile E. Coyote. So whoever thought that VHS tapes would just disappear into the night, they were sadly mistaken.
1. M21 Flat Panel TV: With the mixture of old-school flair and modern technology, this Brady Bunch-esque flat screen TV will be a highly coveted tech toy among the retro and TV fans alike. You could watch your favorite Brady Bunch episode, hint – the episode where Greg and Marcia were both running for class president, on a TV that highly resembles said time period.
2. Touch Screen Boom-box PC: Do you remember hanging out after school? All of your friends sitting around the boom-box after basketball or volleyball practice listening to the four at four. It was just the thing to do. The boom-box revolutionized a generation and now it has been integrated into the digital-age. This 80’s staple features an LCD screen and runs a Linux/Windows dual boot.
3. NES TV Remote Control: Growing up, the Nintendo system was the must-have system for every video-game enthusiast. This NES controller turned TV remote is a retro-gamers’ dream. It combined their two true loves, old-school video game systems and tech toys.
4. Retro Cell Phone Stun Gun link: What is Zach Morris and every quintessential 80’s to early 90’s business man suppose to do with their cell phones? Well, those bulky cell phones are now made into stun guns. So if you’re scared walking home, be not afraid. Because what thief would expect that gigantic cell phone to be 2 weapons, a stun gun and a brick to knock you upside the head.
5. Nintendo R.O.B Webcam: This relic from the original launch of the Nintendo system was not actually a webcam. R.O.B, which stands for robotic operating buddy, was converted into a webcam. So why not get in contact with some of old video game buddies and have a chat with them via the R.O.B webcam.
6. Glowing VHS Tape USB Hub link here: Pop quiz, you need a new USB hub but you just don’t want a standard, generic piece of equipment. Answer, take an old VHS from your tape collection and buy the necessary equipment and voila, a genuine glowing VHS tape USB hub. It will be all the buzz with your childhood friends who you used to watch old episodes of Tiny Toon Adventures on video tape.
7. Smart Table for Kids: I know, this isn’t made out of anything that reminds you of the past. But doesn’t this Microsoft touch screen remind you of a magna-doodle.
8. Audio Technica AT-727 Sound Burger: Vinyl has been making a comeback. This nifty device was created and billed as the rival to the Sony Walkman. While the design seemed portable, there was still a technical flaw which was the spinning disc made it difficult to carry around.
9. USB Cassette: Do you want to show off your creative skills? Wow your friends with that mix tape you still carry around when you plug it into the computer via USB. Sure it’s not going to play the songs from the tape, but you will be able to carry around the songs through an MP3 format.
10. Transformer’s Soundwave MP3 Player: When I think of my childhood, nothing says retro more than Transformers. This MP3 player takes the classic aspect of the character, using cassette tapes during his transformation, and combines it with the digital age. The toy turns into his cassette player form, but instead of using tapes it uses an SD card.
These gadgets show the evolving use of technology. While the content may seem old, it can be used to spark a new generation of sticky devices.

Survival Tools for the Average Tech Girl
TechG: It may seem like a blur of junk. It would be considered a bunch of stuff that was lying around in a jumbled mess. To a tech girl, it's obvious that the mess consists of the essential tools to connect her most cherished toy, the computer, to the internet. They're used so she could read the world news, watch a couple of viral videos on Youtube, research the latest Jordan's that were just released, or check the release dates for her favorite TV show box sets.
2. LS – DVD BOX SETS: "30 ROCK" (1), "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT" (2), "FUTURAMA" (MOVIE), "HOME MOVIES" (4), "THE SIMPSONS" (9, 10), "SPORTS NIGHT" (SERIES).
TechG: There's nothing like spending the weekend just lounging with a tech girl's favorite TV shows. No commercials or interruptions. Just 30+ hours of her, the couch, Bart Simpson, Michael Bluth, Bender and the X-Men lounging together sharing the laughter and dramatic moments. They're her favorite characters, who next to her family and best friends, are the ones she can always rely on. This can also be said about her other toys.
3. CU – PLAYSTATION 2 AND CONTROLLER.
TechG: The mid-1990's brought about a revolutionary new gaming console. It was the new toy sought out by every kid, teen, and adult. The Playstation was the quintessential toy for ages 8 to 48. Then when the new millennium came, Sony released the Playstation 2. This signaled the end of social human contact that didn't revolve around technology for the tech girl.
4. LS – TELEVISION, CABLE BOX, TIVO, AND NETWORK ADAPTER.
TechG: New advancements in technology are important. Without these advancements, digital cable and TIVO could not go hand in hand. It's difficult to think about the days where the tech girl couldn't bear to leave the house because there was a new episode of "ER" or she would have to set the VCR to tape "Friends". Now, the tech girl could finally leave her house.
5. MS – SLINGLINK, SLINGBOX, AND CABLE BOX.
TechG: While the tech girl feels like she could leave her home, it doesn't mean that she doesn't want to have access to her favorite prime-time lineup. The Slingbox would be considered one of her best friends. It connects her to one of her favorite pastimes, watching TV. She's able to commute on BART and watch "The Simpsons" at 7:00 on her cell phone or anything that can receive internet access.
6. MS – DELL LAPTOP.
TechG: The laptop is the tech girl's world. It has everything she needs to function in her daily life. As a student, it holds her research. As a pop culture enthuiast, it holds her music and videos. And as a techie, it holds her emulators/ROMs, and any software that's imperative to her.
7. CU – IPOD SHUFFLE AND EAR BUD.
TechG: Itunes is one of the most basic software programs for any person, not just the tech girl. Therefore, she must own the most common MP3 player known to society, the IPOD. It's not unusual to own an IPOD. The tech girl could own various models from the 30GB classic to the ultra small shuffle. They're sleek, portable, and easy to use. Why wouldn't anyone own an IPOD?
8. MS – PSP, SKULLCANDY HEADPHONES, VIDEO GAMES: "POWER STONE COLLECTION" AND "PATAPON."
TechG: The tech girl shouldn't limit herself to one form of portable entertainment. Her favorite games, music, and video on one device are a gift from God. The Playstation Portable came out in 2005 and in 2007 it was updated as a slimmer version. The PSP is the perfect portable entertainment console for the tech girl. She can play her downloaded ROMs, listen to the latest "TWIT" podcast, or watch her TIVOed Warrior game. While the PSP is a great device, it's not the only toy in her backpack.
9. CU – NINTENDO DS W/"ZOO KEEPER" STYLUS AND SKULLCANDY HEADPHONE.
TechG: When people think about the original portable console, Nintendo usually comes to mind. The Gameboy was a classic, and the DS follows the same line of popular gaming. It features addicting games and game sharing. The tech girl loves and remembers the old school Nintendo games like "Mario Kart", "GoldenEye", and "Super Smash Bros." Gaming consoles are always evolving and the tech girl is always compelled to collect.
10. MS – BOXES OF BELKIN ROUTER, PS3 AND NINTENDO WII.
TechG: The next generation consoles are the Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3, and the X Box 360. The console war has been going on forever, but that doesn't mean the tech girl has to pick just one. Each one is different, but they're all awesome in their own right. They all feature online gaming and there are a couple of gaming exclusives that are hard to ignore. People love Mario, Halo, and Ratchet and Clank, who all belong on their respective systems.

3. CU OF TECH TV LOGO AND SPLIT SCREEN OF VARIOUS TECHTV PERSONALTIES. (CUT BETWEEN TECHTV PERSONALTIES)
Tech: It was a simpler time. The Apple VS PC debate was still going strong. Windows XP was a technological advancement in the right direction. The IPOD was revolutionizing the music and technology industry. The next generation consoles that we know of today were just pipe dreams for the Big 3 companies. Techies were getting their news from a daily source.

4. PANNING LS OF COMCAST EXECUTIVES AT A LONG TABLE.
Tech: Unfortunately, every golden age comes to an end. And when G4 bought TechTV, the future of a once prominent geek source was touch and go. The tech community had to ponder whether G4 and TechTV could peacefully coexist.

5. ZOOM IN TO CU OF G4 TECHTV LOGO.

6. MS STILLS OF ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND, G4TV.COM
Tech: To think shows such as Electric Playground, G4tv.com, and Filter could live in harmony with The Screen Savers, Call for Help, and X-Play. These were the shows that the community could rally behind. The niche demographic was treated to modding techniques and exclusive tech news.

(FADE INBETWEEN PERSONALITIES)
Tech: Computer geeks, techies and video game enthusiasts were united and they had a network that was solely theirs. They could relate to the G4TechTV personalities because they were part of that niche demographic. The personalities were witty, informative smartasses with an affinity towards technology and they were loved for it. The love and passion for tech combined with the cutting-edge programs and talent kept people tuning in for more.

10. MS OF VARIOUS ORIGINAL PROGRAMS LIKE UNSCREWED, JUDGEMENT DAY, ETC. (FADE TO BLACK)
Tech: It didn't take long for everything to go downhill. The personalities we loved were gone and replaced with good looking idiots who knew absolutely nothing about tech or video games. Then the shows suffered and were ultimately canceled.

11. ZOOMING IN TO LS OF BOARD ROOM OF TV EXECUTIVES WITH LIGHT BLUBS OVER THEIR HEADS.
Tech: Supposedly the executives thought that the niche demographic wasn't enough. And they brainstormed to come to a conclusion that the television landscape needed another Spike Network. In fact they believe that G4 minus the TechTv could be the other incarnation of Spike TV.

16. ZOOM OUT OF CU OF TECH GIRL IN STUDIO.
Tech: If the average gamer or techie were to check the channel, the answer would be no. G4 is not a gamer network. It's riddled with pop culture shows geared toward the Jackass type viewers and only highlighted by episodes of X-Play.
(CLOSING SHOT)
17. MS OF TECH GIRL HOLDING UP A REPORT CARD WITH A GIANT "I" ON IT.
Tech: So if you want to waste your time and watch Attack of the Show, G4 is just the network for you. There's no hint of original programming and informative tech news. All in all, I give it an Incomplete. As you can see, the channel is so bad that it doesn't even reach the standard of receiving an actual grade.
